Movement & Wellness was founded by Mary Ann Naar, with the goal of bringing a truly inviting place for Pilates to White Plains.
Mary Ann, who like Joseph Pilates, was raised in Germany, first began studying Pilates in Berlin as a young dancer. Since moving to New York in 1997, she has continued her study of Pilates and dance, leading to a BA in Dance from Hunter College and a Pilates Teacher Certification through the Ellie Hermann teacher training program from master trainer Erica Essner in 2002, after completing more than 650 hours of training.

Before opening her own studio in 2006, Mary Ann taught at the Goodson Parker Wellness Center and Body Evolution in New York City. She has advanced certifications in Pilates for Pregnancy and Pilates for Golfers among many others. Mary Ann is highly experienced, having worked with professional dancers and athletes, pre and post-partum women, golfers, equestrians, tennis players and clients from age 12 to 86. She brings more than 10 years of professional dance and Pilates experience to her teaching and offers a trained eye, caring instruction and boundless enthusiasm for the beauty and potential of human movement

 

Christine PeroneChristine Perone
Christine is originally from Pittsburgh Pa. She moved to NYC last year after living in Los Angeles, CA for 14 years.She is a professional dancer and singer who was introduced to Pilates Physical Therapy 9 years ago, when she injured her back dancing. After back surgery and lots of Pilates physical therapy, she decided to get certified in this amazing art form. She owes her existing dance career to Pilates and loves to spread the wonderful benefits
of it. Christine has been teaching Pilates for 5 years, working for 2 years at a Pilates PhysicalTherapy Studio in Los Angeles, CA. Christine is happy to finally be in New York!
