ABOUT US
Mary Ann Naar
Movement & Wellness was founded by Mary Ann Naar, with the goal of bringing a warm inviting place for Pilates, to her new hometown of White Plains.
Mary Ann, who like Joseph Pilates, was raised in Germany, first began studying Pilates in Berlin as a young dancer. Since moving to New York in 1997, she has continued her study of Pilates and dance, leading to a BA in Dance from Hunter College and a Pilates Teacher Certification from master trainer Erica Essner in 2001, after completing more than 650 hours of training.
Before opening her own studio in 2006, Mary Ann taught at the Goodson Parker Wellness
Center and Body Evolution in New York City and worked extensively with private clients in their homes. She is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and has advanced certifications in Pilates for Pregnancy and Pilates for Golfers. She brings more than 8 years of professional dance and Pilates teaching experience to her clients and offers a trained eye, caring instruction and boundless enthusiasm for the beauty and potential of human movement.

Angilique Campbell
With a love and passion for movement and teaching, Angilique brings over 15 years of dance, fitness, and gymnastics experience to Movement & Wellness. Originally from Maryland, she came to New York to study dance at The Ailey School. Before receiving her B.A. in Communications from Temple University, she obtained certifications in aerobics, personal training, and yoga. In early 2008 she earned her Pilates mat and apparatus certifications through Power Pilates and the Physical Mind Institute. She found the Pilates method to be the most effective and beneficial form of training for the young, the elderly and people with physical limitations. Angilique’s dedication to teaching has lead her to work with various populations including children, gymnasts, college students, morbidly obese individuals, athletes, dancers and senior citizens. She believes that teaching is powerful and rewarding when students build not only strength and flexibility, but confidence and self-esteem as well.
